John Deere Idler Part Number M124285

Disappointed at the severe downsizing of the ball bearing in these idlers. Also, when using these on older machines (over 20 years old), the spacer that comes with it causes a belt alignment issue, at least on the drive side (not the auger side). I had to substitute the supplied spacer with a stack of 8mm washers to get the correct alignment, otherwise that brand new belt would've shredded in no time. Grinding the supplied spacer takes much too long, and creates far too much heat for the piece - I would've had to take nearly 1/4" of material off of it. At the speeds these spin at, going smaller on a bearing seems ludicrous from an engineering standpoint, especially at $15+ a pop. Welcome to the 21st Century ...
